ILO and Ford Foundation: Placing decent work at the heart of the development agenda (23 September)

As interest in decent work and inclusive economic development increases at the UN, the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the Ford Foundation organized an event that brought together a high-level group of world leaders and decision-makers on 23 September to examine effective policies and strategies that can deliver on the promise of decent work for all.

World Conference on Indigenous Peoples: Moving Forward in Realizing Rights of Indigenous Peoples

The first ever World Conference on Indigenous Peoples (WCIP) was held at UNHQ in New York from 22-23 September, bringing together Heads of State and Government, Member States, hundreds of Indigenous representatives from around the world, UN agencies and civil society representatives to share perspectives and best practices on the realization of the rights of Indigenous Peoples and to improve implementation of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.
