The United Nations Non-Governmental Liaison Service (UN-NGLS) is an inter-agency programme of the United Nations mandated to promote and develop constructive relations between the United Nations and civil society organizations.
During March and April 2012, civil society organizations participated in calls and meetings with members of the Secretary-General’s High-level Group on Sustainable Energy for All. Facilitated and organized by the UN Non-Governmental Liaison Service (NGLS), in cooperation with the Executive Office of the Secretary-General and the UN Foundation, these engagements were part of a civil society consultation process on the Sustainable Energy for All Initiative in the lead up to the June 2012 UN Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio+20).
Summary reports from these engagements are now available on a new NGLS website about the Sustainable Energy for All Initiative: www.un-ngls.org/se4all.
