The President of the General Assembly will host a one-day Informal Thematic Debate on International Migration and Development at United Nations Headquarters in New York on 19 May 2011, pursuant to A/RES/63/225. The debate is intended to build on the on-going international dialogue on international migration and development, and to contribute to the process leading to the second High-level Dialogue on International Migration and Development in 2013.
Representatives from civil society organizations, including those organizations not accredited with the UN, who wish to attend the informal thematic debate, are invited to pre-register. Pre-registration must be received no later than 15 April 2011. Please note that for planning purposes, pre-registration to this event is required. However, pre-registration does not guarantee entry into the meeting - seating will be on a first come first serve basis.

On Friday, 19 April 2013, the interactive conversation “Global Voices on Poverty” will feature World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim and UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to discuss what #ittakes to end poverty. The conversation will bring together world leaders, opinion makers, and a global online audience.
