Tony Hill was appointed Coordinator of NGLS in 1991 after a stint as Senior Programme Officer. Prior to that he worked at the Catholic Institute for International Relations in London and the Banco Paraguayo de Datos, an NGO based in Asunción, Paraguay. Tony holds a BSc, First Class Honours (social sciences) from Bath University (UK) and an MPhil (Development Studies) from the Institute of Development Studies, also in the UK.
Elisa Peter was appointed Deputy Coordinator and Chief of the New York office of the UN-NGLS in January 2006. Prior to joining NGLS, she worked for FAO as a policy analyst and for several NGOs as manager, coordinator and consultant on issues ranging from global environmental issues to organizational development and advocacy campaigns. She holds an MSc degree in agronomy from the National Superior School of Agronomy in Toulouse, France.
Ramin Kaweh joined the UN-NGLS Geneva as a Programme Officer in 2003. Prior to that, he worked with UNESCO and also with the private sector consulting international organisations and NGOs. Ramin has a Master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Kent, and worked as a researcher on globalisation issues at the London School of Economics. He is also a faculty member at Webster University in Geneva.
Beth Peoc’h joined NGLS in Geneva in September 2001 as editor of NGLS’s publications. Prior to that, she worked for Smithsonian Magazine in Washington DC as advertising production manager, and in the Economics and Trade Unit at the United Nations Environment Programme in Geneva. She enjoys the fast work pace NGLS provides, which helps keep her in shape for when she finds time to run marathons. She holds a BA in journalism and creative writing from Oklahoma State University (US).
Kouraich Jaouahdou joined NGLS in Geneva in January 2004 to work on its Information & Communication. Prior to that, and after working with a television channel, he was responsible of the communication and information of many International NGOs and Networks, working on their image and developing their communication tools and products. Born in Tunisia, he also had an experience within the UN System before starting in Geneva. Kouraich holds a BA in Communication & Marketing, in addition to several certificates dealing with the processing and management of information and audiovisual products.
Sandar Hla is a Myanmar national born in Sierra Leone, who lived and traveled across four continents. Coming from a background in documentary film production, Sandar joined the UN in 2000 as a UN Tour Guide; gained field experience in Myanmar and in India before she joined NGLS New York as the Information Assistant in January 2004. Sandar is currently finishing up her Master’s in International Affairs from the Graduate Program in International Affairs at the New School University
Ian Foucher joined NGLS in New York, April 2004, as a Consultant to work on NGLS publications and research ongoing UN related issues and events. Ian previously worked with the United Nations Association in Canada in the areas of development and human rights. As a Chevening Scholar, Ian attended the University of Manchester where he earned a Master's degree in Human Rights. He also holds a BA (Hons) in Political Science from the Université de Moncton.
